About Program Contact roles

An individual can hold any of the six Program Contact Roles in one Location. Each Program Contact Role can only have one named individual at a Location, however one individual may be assigned multiple roles at a Location.

What are the Program Contact Roles?

An individual that is assigned a Program Contact Role is a considered a contact.  Contacts are used to identify the individuals that Microsoft will work with directly for the Microsoft Partner Program. To assign a contact, a name and an e-mail address are required. For the contact to be active, that individual must have completed an Individual Profile for the Membership Center.

Primary Program Contact

Required for every Location within an Organization

This is the contact with whom Microsoft engages in the Program. A Primary Program Contact at the Headquarters Location automatically has Global administrative rights. A Primary Program Contact at any other Location in the Organization automatically has Location administrative rights.

Executive Contact

Required for every Location within an Organization

The Executive Contact should be assigned to the individual who manages the relationship with Microsoft. The administrator can change the Executive Contact to another individual.

Sales/Marketing Contact

Required for every Location within an Organization

This contact receives sales and marketing communications from Microsoft.

An administrator can change the Sales/Marketing Contact to any other individual in the Organization.

First Technical Contact

Required for every Location within an Organization

This contact can access the MSDN downloads. An individual with this role is assigned a Technical ID used to access MSDN.

Second Technical Contact

Not a required role

This contact can also access the MSDN downloads. An individual with this role is assigned a Technical ID used to access MSDN.

Third Technical Contact

Not a required role

This contact can also access the MSDN downloads. An individual with this role is assigned a Technical ID used to access MSDN.

 

Notes

An Administrator can assign roles to any individual associated to the Organization. Contacts can be changed at any time.

When a new Location is added, all required roles are automatically assigned to the individuals assigned in the Location above it in the Organization hierarchy.
